The Second Character Trailer On Borderlands 3 — Moze "The Gunner"

As all you can see that earlier in this week, Gearbox has introduced us one of the most popular characters in the Borderlands 3 game — Zane Flynt (The Operative), he is a semi-retired corprate hitman and then he became a vault hunter in the game of Borderlands 3 who depends on guile, technology, precision applications of violence, and of course, also along with his boozy Irish charm to get the work done. Here is the general introduction of Zane. And today it's time to meet another main character in this game, Moze (a.k.a The Gunner), she is a former soilder who decided to try more solo-focused pursuits after the rest of her squad ran into a spot of trouble on what was supposed to be her final mission.

To be honest, just like many other game players, I have always been undecided about which Vault Hunter should I choose to play in Borderlands 3, and for months I was very sure that it would not be Moze. But, my view has changed after I was watching her the latest character trailer and then reading up on some of her skills, and now I am more torn than ever, cause it turns out Moze is freaking awesome!

From the latest character trailer, Moze, she is not totally alone. Her best friend, Iron Bear, is still by her side. However, Iron Bear is not alive: It's her mech, and from the trailer, I am not very sure that personifying it to the point where she is offering it food reflects a totally healthy mindset. But there's no doubt that a bipedal death machine with at least partial AI programming is a pretty convenient thing to have when everyone's out to kill you.

This trailer also deeply explores her history with the military and, what's more, along with the Iron Bear mech, Moze's partner in destruction. According to the trailer, we can get that Moze acquired Iron Bear after her squadron was entirely wiped out in a botched operation, and Iron Bear saved her life and since then they have become best friends, like Moze said: "My BFFs". Moze maintains Iron Bear just like an old car, and Iron Bear watches for enemies while Moze sleeps. To some extent, it actually seems like a pseudo-symbiotic relationship reminiscent of old mecha anime like Evangelion and Eureka Seven, and it is much more touching than I ever imagined.

Now speaking of Iron Bear, please notice that it is still a big-old deathbot, and according to what Gearbox explained in a blog post accompanying Moze's trailer, it is a central part of Moze's ability. Borderlands 3's Vault Hunters are all different takes on the term one-man army, and Moze presents a very literal interpretation. Moze even can equip one action skill to each of Iron Bear's arms, which means she can use two of the same one or any combination of the six available to her. Each of Moze's three skill branches contains two action skill variants and some augments for each, so there seems to be a lot of space for customization. All in all, here are some her action skills:

*Bear Fist (Tier 2): punch things really hard

*Minigun: unleash a chain gun that fires a lot of bullets very quickly

*Railgun: fire high-velocity electric projectiles that can easily vaporize your target if your aim is true

*Salamander (Tier 2): torch nearby enemies with a flamethrower

*V-35 Grenade Launcher: fires off a steady stream of grenades that aren’t affected by Moze’s equipped grenade mod

*Vanquisher Rocket Pod (Tier 2): fire a volley of rockets which can track enemies

Above those are Moze's action skills; so far, we even have not gotten to her passive abilities. Luckily, Gearbox shared nine other abilities in the latest reveal:

*Auto Bear: Iron Bear will remain deployed for a short time after Moze gets out, attacking nearby enemies before charging in and self-destructing

*Force Feedback: Moze's shield will start recharging when she gets a critical (headshot) kill

*Forge: Moze constantly regenerates ammo for her currently equipped weapon

*Full Can of Whoop-Ass: Moze and her allies to immediately begin recharging their shields at an increased rate whenever Moze jumps into Iron Bear

*Matched Set: your equipped weapon gains bonus magazine size and reduced "heat per shot" (likely related to minigun-type Borderlands 3 weapons) for every piece of equipped gear from a matching manufacturer

*Phalanx Doctrine: Moze gains stacking gun damage and maximum shield on every kill, with no stack limit

*Short Fuse: Moze's gun damage has a chance to trigger an explosion

*Specialist Bear: encouraging Moze to equip two of the same Action Skill weapon on Iron Bear, increasing their damage by a flat amount

*Torgue Cross-Promotion: Moze's splash (AoE) attacks have a chance to be twice as big

Here are some basic information about Moze, and now, there are only two characters' trailers are still under wraps, Amara, and FL4K, and soon we will get their own character profile and skills.
