Path of Exile Microtransactions |
The developer Grinding Gear Game (usually we call this GGG) has published a list of its most popular microtransactions, "ordered by quantity rather than how much they contribute to overall sales." At the top of the armor, list is the Infernal Armour Set, which has the benefit of being up for sale at least for five years but was still an "absolute hit amongst this community" when it released.
There is a theme to most of the categories, for example, "WINGS" being quite popular for back attachments and the overall popularity of Celestial and Infernal gear.
For shields and weapons in Path of Exile, "flashy" is the name of this game, while people much prefer "Relatively Simple Effects" for portals. There are even category listings for those stash tabs, hideouts, and even miscellaneous microtransactions (and of course, the microtransactions are more than just mean the selling and buying Path of Exile Currency), for example, skin transfers and character slots.
If you really are a fan of Path of Exile, then it might be pretty awesome to take a look at the lists and see if your preferences follow the most popular trends or if you tend to vary from the established norms. For me, I have to admit that I hate looking like everyone else, therefore, I'd probably be one of those guys wearing something in the second or third tier of popularity — but at least I'd never be caught dead in, say, a green bunny suit. Right?
